It’s like the cobwebs of my mind…and other areas. I was looking up some funny sayings about cleaning and found a few;
“I’m not going to vacuum until Sears makes one you can ride on.” Roseanne Barr
“The trouble with living alone is that it’s always your turn to do the dishes.” Author Unknown
“When it comes to housework the one thing no book of household management can ever tell you is how to begin. Or maybe I mean why.” Katherine Whitehorn
Go figure, all these years and I’ve been in “Management” and I didn’t even know it.
That last quote got me thinking, I’ve kept many a clean house. And while each house was different the cleaning starts all remained the same. JUST DO IT. Start anywhere do anything but start and don’t stop till the job’s done start anywhere and keep after it like the devil himself till its DONE.
That’s how you clean, start anywhere, that’s how you write also, start anywhere. If all you have is a great ending, hop on it. Don’t leave it at that, figure out how all those people arrived at that predicament and just WRITE it. It’s really funny but in this life the only thing that matters is INTENT, it’s also the only thing that ever gets DONE. So whether it’s just the dishes or the entire house or the great american novel. JUST DO IT.
I feel like Dulcinea, in “Man of La Mancha”…it’s all the same!
