Years ago when my babies were still little ones I made french toast one day and found we had no syrup left, so I buttered the french toast and dusted it with a bit of confectionery sugar and rolled them up and presented them to the kids as “Roll up’s”. They became a family favorite.
2-4 eggs
1/3 cup milk
6 slices white bread
2-3 tsp butter
Beat the eggs and milk together in a bowl and then drag the bread through the mixture once on each side and put in hot skillet to fry to a crispy gold on each side. Then remove crispy bread butter it and dust it with confectionary powdered sugar, roll up and plate and serve. Kids love them (I’ve never seen an adult walk away either!)
You can add a tiny bit of vanilla or cinnamon I suppose, but I very rarely did and the kids adored them.
