The Good Ship Squashy (Sweet Baked Acorn Squash)

2 Medium Acorn Squash

4 Tbsp Brown Sugar

4 Tbsp Butter

2 Tsp. Nutmeg

Rinse and cut Squash in half, scrap out seeds and slice a little off the bottom so it will sit nicely on the cookie sheet or baking pan your using. In each half put, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp butter, 1/4 tsp nutmeg. Salt and Pepper everybody. Pop them into a 375 degree oven with little top of aluminum foil for 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours and you’ll have the sweetest little autumn side dish ever.

 No muss no fuss and kids are amazed with them if you put a couple of marshmallows in them with faces and call it a boat, the S.S. Babys name written on the side on a piece of tape. That’s one way to get their attention and get them to eat their vegetables, and learn to recognize their name. Great imagination starter of stories of travel in their boat while at the dinner table…those what if stories that kids love. And they won’t be fighting with each other just going on fantastic voyages.
