John J. Duggan Dies in Hospital 1/28/1931 Dunkirk Evening Observer

This is Pa’s mother Mary Duggan Spellacy’s brothers obituary. This would be our Great Uncle John Joseph Duggan. It’s from the “Dunkirk Evening Observer” January 28,1931 

John Joseph Duggan of (?) Monroe Street, died tuesday afternoon at 3:35 O’Clock, aged 65(?) years. He was born in Brockton and resided at Portland for many years, coming to Dunkirk from there seventeen years ago. He was in recent years a Crossing Watchman for the Pennsylvania Railroad at King Street and Lincoln Avenue and prior to that was Trainman on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Aid(?) Society of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He is survived by a daughter Miss Mable M. Duggan, Dunkirk; a brother William Duggan, Brocton; three sisters, Miss Sarah Duggan, Miss Nellie Duggan and Mrs Mary Spellacy of Cleveland. The funeral will be held friday afternoon at two o’clock at the Flood and Larson funeral home, burial in Portland. The Rev. John Dimpil will officiate. The body has been taken to the Flood and Larson funeral home where friends may call.
