1 package Lasagna Noodles
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 lb Hot Italian Sausage
1 lb Ground Beef
1 large onion diced
1 large green pepped diced
4 cloves garlic minced or 2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 large can tomato sauce
1 medium can crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoon margarine
1 tablespoon sugar
1 large container of Ricotta or Cottage cheese
1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese
1 large package shredded Mozzarella
1 tsp basil
Boil Lasagna noodles per package directions, drain and drizzle with oil to keep them from sticking to each other or anything else, lay out on cookie sheet.
Brown diced Onion and diced Green Pepper in fry pan. When softened add in Ground Beef and Italian Sausage and brown.
In separate saucepan mix and heat Tomato sauce mixture of Tomato sauce , crushed tomatoes, sugar, margarine, garlic, crushed red pepper, oregano, salt pepper .
In separate bowl mix Ricotta mix to be used on top of lasagna noodles, Ricotta, egg, Parmesan , mozzarella, and basil.
In Large baking dish put a little of the sauce (1/4 to 1/2 cup) on bottom of pan just enough to keep the noodles from sticking but not to much!
Then layer the lasagna noodles like this, 3 across and topped with Riccotta Mix, then a little meat mix then a little tomato sauce on top of this. Then repeat this layer, Noodles, Meat , Ricotta mix , Sauce. You should have enough for 2/3 layers. Bake covered 350 degrees 40-50 minutes. Cover may be removed last ten minutes to let cheese melt on top. Serves 6-8
