It’s the small things…

Your actions in your own little life are just as important the big actions government takes when it commits murder, because the big actions that are executed by the state are composed of just a lot of little actions combined. So if you choose to act in your life with kindness and compassion the combination of all of our good works will offset and finally end the murderous works of our own government. You can take back the power by practicing the opposite of what they preach…fear. Act with love.

Just like the effect of a butterfly’s wings on Ocean currents, an act of kindness starts that ripple in the Universe. I just finished the first story in the book “The Red Pony” by John Steinbeck. I am so grateful that man lived and chose to write. In a time when my soul like all of ours is witnessing the demonization on the American Dream, watching our country’s leaders approve cold-blooded murder and torture of innocence we have to realize our responsibility in this. But I can take my tortured soul to the writings of Steinbeck and the teachings of Mother Teresa and see that it’s the little things that you do in your own life that really make an impact on this world. Those little acts of faith shown in Steinbeck’s characters or Mother Teresa ferocious implacable defense of dignity show me that it is a personal responsiblity to be kind to your neighbor. To protect the innocent and to care for the grief-stricken. To do feed the hungry and to shelter the one’s society tries to destroy these are the actions we do every day in our own lives and these all add up to making a real change in the world. It’s entirely different of the “trickle down theory”, as there is no up or down as all souls are equal, in caring for your neighbor your soul has no limitations. I think of the Germans that protected the Jews during the second world war. I think of Yad Vasham, The Hall of the Righteous. And in each era the same things happen. There are bad souls that will hurt and harm for money or power and then there are those whose only interest is in comforting other souls and making their way easier. So it’s the small things that each and every one of us do every day that truly make a difference. You may not be able to stop the President and the Congress from outright murder in our name but you CAN save your neighbors and their  families of innocent children by living your own life practicing kindness and courage and generosity to do what you can to make their way easier. Be that soul who shares the last cup of water or gives that child a sense of safety and certainty that you will be there for them always and in the end all will be well. Be active in being there caring for each other as our fearful leaders are no longer capable of thinking of anything without fainting with fear.  Those of us living on the bottom line realize that FDR really was right, “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.”  Just look what its done to our formerly free country.

So remember this and be not afraid, and choose to live your whole life through practice those acts of loving-kindness. Because YOU are changing the very world you live in and YOUR life will have made a difference.

It truly is that simple. It’s the small things…

Even if its only as small as writing to encourage the good you believe in, so others can witness it and practice it knowing it really is all the small things that add up and their behaviour in turn will CHANGE THE WORLD…
